Fees and Payment Policies
Insurance
To maintain high quality, responsive services that maximize your privacy, Guiding Compass Counseling does not participate as a network provider with insurance plans. However, many insurance plans provide reimbursement for out-of-network mental health services. Your counselor will provide a receipt for services that includes all of the information needed to file for reimbursement with your insurance carrier. Check with your insurance provider as to whether or not your plan provides out-of-network mental health benefits.
Professional Fees
A typical session lasts between 45 minutes and 1 hour. If requested, an extended session for adults and groups may last 80 to 90 minutes. The number of sessions depends on many factors unique to each person. Therefore, the number of sessions needed will be decided by you and your counselor.
Fee Raises
Fees will increase by no more than 10% during even numbered years, beginning as early as January 1. If you have any questions, please talk to your therapist.
Need-Based Scholarships
If the ability to afford these fees will prevent you from receiving services, ask your counselor about the availability of one of our limited scholarships.
LPC Associates
An LPC-Associate is a counselor who has already met the educational, clinical, and competency requirements to provide counseling in the state of Texas with a temporary license. They are in the process of gaining the required additional clinical experience in order to earn their permanent license. Throughout this process, they receive guidance and consultation from an experienced, state-approved LPC-Supervisor. As a result, you receive the benefit of two counselors working on your behalf, which ensures quality therapeutic services at an affordable rate.
